Merry Christmas ☃️

I hope you have a wonderful day filled with love, joy, and peace.

Thank you for being a part of our church community and for your support throughout the year. Your faith, love, and commitment to serving others have inspired me, and I am grateful to be a part of this wonderful group of believers.

This has been quite an unusual holiday season—so much joy, yet so much pain. So much to look forward to but so much loss and grief. I'd imagine that this was probably how the people of the Bible time felt on the First Christmas when Christ was born. So much hopelessness and despair, yet they waited with great anticipation. I am so appreciative of the daily digital devotions that Ps. Lisa curated for the Advent Season. [We shared them on our church's private Group page on Facebook. If you have not requested to join that page, please do so now.] The scriptures were carefully selected and paired with powerful reflective excerpts from some fantastic authors. I encourage you to read and re-read them in your spare time and allow the Lord to deal with you in His way.

One of the ways the Lord deals with me is through music. There is a song that continued to invade my personal space during the Advent Season. I invite you to listen as you reflect on the First Christmas and what this all means to us today. The song is entitled Welcome To Our World. [I like the JJ Heller rendition. 😉] Take a moment and quiet yourself and listen to the words of this song and allow it to minister to your heart this Christmas Day.

I pray that you can experience the love and hope of Jesus uniquely today and that you carry that love and hope with you into the new year. May you continue to grow in your faith and experience the blessings of God in all that you do.

Once again, Merry Christmas, and God bless.

Sincerely,

Pastor Devin & Lady Cortney

P.S
We will not have in-person or online worship today. So enjoy the entire day with your family, and we will see you all on Sunday, Jan. 1st, for our first service of 2023. It will undoubtedly be a celebration!

It's been too long

Greetings to my beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord!

Oh, how I miss you all. As you know, this has been a hectic season for me. The travel for the sake of ministering the gospel in word & song, and the intentional cultivating of ministry relationships that continue to bless our church in ways that are too numerous to count, have been extensive as of late. I feel like the Apostle Paul when he wrote in Philippians 1:7 [ESV] -

It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.

I often thank the Apostle Paul for always providing the right words to convey my feelings. 😉

Allow me to provide some updates both from my travels and things that have been happening behind the scenes that have and will significantly impact us as a church:

  • I visited with Ps. Steve and Jessi Andres and New City Church in Naperville, IL. It was an honor to minister God's Word the weekend after Thanksgiving. They received the word with great joy. It felt great to thank them in person for their partnership with us for the Comeback Offering. Watch the video.

  • For the last three months, I've reconnected in ministry with our Founding Pastor and my Spiritual Father, Ps. Tim Dilena. They recently went through an abrupt transition with their music ministry—our own Bro. DoRohn Gough has flown in weekly for the last three months to help lead the musicians at Times Square Church. I, too, have come in periodically to help lead worship. We are here to help with their Christmas on Broadway production with CeCe Winans, which will run for three straight nights [Dec. 19th-21st]. I am soliciting your prayers that people will give their hearts to Christ because of the production. I was also able to personally thank their board of elders and leadership team for their support of our church during the Comeback Offering and the many other times they have supported us during my tenure.

I am thankful for your continued prayers, support and serving. The faithfulness you all have shown shows that our church is not about a personality or single individual but rather the presence of the ONLY true and living God. The reports that have come in, coupled with the photos and video clips that I've seen from the Christmas Toy Giveaway simply blew me away!

I want to thank the deacons who have covered and supported Lady Cortney and me during this time. Deacon Don, Deaconess Jones, and Ps. Ken, THANK YOU!

I also want to publicly thank my CORE Team & Staff, who keep the wheels on the bus moving day by day. The saying is true:

"You don't go as far as your dream. You go as far as your team."

On that note, let me give BIG shoutouts to Ps. Eli, Ps. Lisa, Dr. Sarah, Ps. Max, and Will Watson. You all make ministry easy for me, and I am forever grateful for that.

I return home later this week, and I'm looking forward to seeing you all and worshipping together for our Christmas Eve Eve joint service with Harris Memorial COGIC. It will be a powerful time in the presence of the Lord. 7 PM. Get there early.

Blessings 'til we meet again, but until then, Go with God, and He will go with you!

Ps. Devin

P.S
Did you all hear Ps. Max and Minister Sheyonna sermons on Advent? My GOD 🤯

With 24 hours left, we are soooo close to reaching our goal

Church,

On September 25th, we set out on an audacious goal of raising $30,000 over 30 days. I'm happy to announce that we are only $4,775 away from hitting that goal. Yet, I STILL believe in God not just to meet the goal but to exceed the goal.

Many of you have given, and we are so grateful for that.

Suppose you have not given to the Comeback Offering for RevialTab. Would you please prayerfully consider giving so we can get caught up on our budget and create ministry momentum?

It's no secret that COVID-19 impacted us greatly, but I know that our God is GREATER than COVID-19. We have continued to reach out and touch the Highland Park community despite the financial challenges we have faced. We believe that with your help, God will continue to show His faithfulness to His Word concerning us.

You can give by simply CLICKING HERE.

Go with God, and He will go with you.

Blessings to you!

Ps. Devin

If you get me to the railroad tracks, I can find my way home from there.

Dear Church,

When I was a kid, I used to hear my Grandfather say, "If you get me to the railroad tracks, I can find my way home from there."

Two weeks ago, we started our Comeback Offering. We set an audacious goal of $30,000.00. With your generosity and the generosity shown by several outside ministries, we have raised $21,669.78. As my Grandfather would say, "We have arrived at the railroad tracks." We are close to making our way home, needing only $8,330.22 left to raise.

What does this number represent? Two things: 1) Get our church on track financially, so we have more resources to do more ministry and touch more lives. 2) We will bless multiple organizations and churches so they can continue providing needed resources to families within our community. So when our team decided to raise this offering, we wanted to take this opportunity to help other organizations besides ourselves continue doing their work. They're in the trenches making a powerful difference in the lives of our community, and we want them to have more resources as their work continues.

You play a direct role here at RT and across the city of Highland Park when you give on over the next two weeks. Your generosity means more people get the help they so desperately need.

You can give to this offering online or by putting something in the plate or mail.

No matter how you give or what amount you give, know your dollar makes a tremendous difference in our church and our community. So how will you consider giving now?

Faithful IS Our God

He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. - Deuteronomy 32:4

Let me tell you what happened over the last 48-hours. As many of you know, we kicked off our COMEBACK OFFERING this past Sunday. I'll be honest, it was a leap of faith with such a lofty goal of $30,000 to be raised over the next 30 days. But we are trusting, leaning, and depending on Jesus every step of the way! Before the sun went down on Sunday, we received a $5,000 donation from our ministry partner and dear friend Pastor Steve & Jessi Andres and New City Church in Naperville, IL. 🤯

.::GIVE TO THE COMEBACK OFFERING::.

And if that wasn't enough, God sent Pastor Jerry Hunt from Word of Truth Christian Church in Bowling Green, Ohio, who I have only met ONE TIME in my entire life to meet with me today. He told me that God placed me on his heart this morning and told him to bless our church with $5,000. 😭

Can someone shout FAITHFUL IS OUR GOD!

Family, please hear me, God is moving by His spirit all over the earth. And in His moving, He has not forgetting about His people at Revival Tabernacle. He is sending people from the North, South, East, and West to bear witness to the fact that God is with us and for us. If you are connected, stay connected. If you have been disconnected for a while, it's NEVER too late to reconnect.

JESUS WAS THERE AT 9:30 A.M.

Church,

For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am in the midst. – Matthew 18:20

Something incredible happened this past Sunday at 9:30 A.M.

Brian Johnson was outside picking up the trash on the church grounds and getting our house ready for family members and guests to arrive.

• Inside, the church had already been cleaned by Renza Heardthat Thursday, looking fantastic.

Pastor Max, Will Watson, and Jazz [our sound engineer] were already in the media booth making sure all technical components for the service and Live Stream were ready to go.

Pastor Ken, Demery Charleston, Noah Keene, and Heidi Holder had just received their marching orders from Pastor Eli and were getting in place as they prepared to serve on the First Impressions Team.

Trenise Smith was getting things ready for our children to engage them at RT Kids.

Pastor Lisa was checking to ensure everything was in order.

Mother Gough and Deaconess Jones [our Prayer Warriors] were prayed up and ready to pray us through.

Members of our spiritual family came through the doors with hearts of expectation ready to receive from the Lord.

And guess who else was there in the midst? Jesus.

According to Matthew 18:20, Jesus promises to show up when we show up! I love that about our Lord and what I see in our church.

God is doing a NEW THING, so let's lean ALL THE WAY IN and avail ourselves to be used of God to see EVERY SINNER REACHED, EVERY BELIEVER RAISED, & EVERY LEADER RELEASED.

Lastly, be on the lookout for Baptism Sunday signup. I'm excited for all those who are ready to take the next step in their faith journey.

I love you so much and can't wait to be with you again this weekend.

Blessings,

Pastor Devin

P.S.
Don't forget, this Sunday we will have a special time of prayer and impartation with the laying on of hands with Lady Cortney and myself. Doors open at 9:30.

Comeback Offering

Dear Church,

The last 29 months have certainly been unpredictable. Every day brings something unexpected to our attention, from a global pandemic to unthinkable crimes on many levels. We all felt so much tension in the transition to working at home, schooling at home, worshiping at home, staying at home, and trying to keep our sanity at home.

So many of you continued being generous during this season, and we are grateful for that. Your giving means we continue working to fulfill the mission of our church: Reach Every Sinner, Raise Every Believer, & Release Every Leader.

But we still fell behind in our budget. Our church feels the same financial pressure many families have faced for almost two and a half years. We believe money can and should be used as a mighty tool in building God’s kingdom. When we fall behind in our budget plan, we have to sacrifice ministry opportunities to keep things afloat.

This is why, on September 25th, we are launching our Comeback Offering. This offering is a chance to get our budget caught up, so we create ministry momentum in the weeks and months ahead.

But that’s not all. Within the last sixty days, we were blessed to receive an eighty-thousand-dollar grant from World Challenge, Inc. This grant, like most grants, comes with particular guidelines by which the funds can be used. We always have and will continue to operate with extreme integrity when it comes to stewarding the blessing that God has entrusted to us. We cannot use those funds for church operations. But we can utilize a portion of those funds to be a blessing to other organizations in our city that meet the requirement of the grant directive. And that is what we plan to do. We are researching and will identify a local organization in Highland Park to bless with a portion of the funds from the grant, so they have more resources to continue their vital work.

We will start this offering on Sunday, September 25th. At that point, you can give to create ministry momentum while helping people in our community. Will you join us?

Ps. Devin: Sunday was...WOW!

Happy Labor Day, Church!

I pray that this day finds you resting and reflecting on the goodness of God.
